Sudhir Sachchidanand Mungantiwar is a prominent political leader from Maharashtra and a former Cabinet Minister for Forests, Cultural Affairs, and Fisheries. With a career spanning decades, Mungantiwar has also held key portfolios such as Finance & Planning, Tourism, and Consumer Protection. Known for his transformative initiatives, he played a pivotal role in launching the Shetkari Sanmaan Yojna, Maharashtra's groundbreaking farm loan waiver scheme, and implementing the Evidence-Based Project Management System, a first-of-its-kind in India. As Finance Minister, he championed progressive policies like increased maternity leave and insurance coverage for government employees, while establishing a UN-backed "War Room" to monitor developmental projects.

As the Forest Minister, Mungantiwar spearheaded one of India's most ambitious plantation drives, planting over 50 crore saplings by 2019, with several records, including a single-day plantation of 2.81 crore trees. His efforts led to the formation of key conservation bodies like the Maharashtra State Zoo Authority and Green Army, while his collaboration with Isha Foundation’s Rally for Rivers highlighted his commitment to ecological sustainability. Recognized as a dynamic leader, he has received accolades such as the 'Best Performing Politician' and 'Man of the Year.' Currently, he is also the Guardian Minister of Chandrapur and Wardha districts and is the BJP candidate for Chandrapur in the 2024 General Elections.
